 Community Councillor for the Garndiffaith & Varteg Ward of Abersychan and one of three Labour Party Candidates for the local Torfaen County Borough Council elections in May 2012.I'm 44 years old and have lived within the Abersychan ward
all my life, my father was a Torfaen County Borough Councillor for the
Abersychan ward and Mayor of Torfaen.
My mother was a Community Councillor for the area and Leader
of Pontypool Community Council.
I decided a few years back to stand as a Community Councillor as I wanted to improve where I live and to learn more about
committee structure and procedures to gain experience to represent my area
hopefully as a TCBC Councillor in the future. |
 I have been involved within the T&G and now Unite since
I was 16 and have served as a Committee member, Shop Steward, Safety Rep and
Deputy Convenor at Meritor Cwmbran (Girlings).
My hobbies include local issues, Walking,
Website design, IT, Local History and protecting the area I call home, which is
the Abersychan Ward.
I also attended and marched through London for the TUC March
for the Alternative on Saturday March 26 2011 and attended the Occupy London
camp outside St Paul's Cathedral.
I am currently involved with:

* Vice Chair of the Victoria, Abersychan, Talywain (VAT) Focus Group
* Garnteg Primary School as a Governor
* Stewards Secretary for the Unite Union at Meritor (Old Girlings)
